As Meshach, Shadrach & Abednego said in Daniel 3:18, 'But if...' Can we say 'But if...' something doesn't go right in our walk - we are hassled - we are tripped up, etc. ? We ought to be able to have that faith, etc.

This sermon is a short & simple Bible study on the phrase "But if..." It yields some interesting verses.

Are Christians Still “Sinners?”

Sunday Morning

After a person is saved, does God still consider them a sinner?
Is there still a need for personal confession of sins?
Are we to try to be like Christ and imitate his walk by following His footsteps, etc.?
If a Christian commits a sin, is he of the devil again as it states in I John 3?
Can a Christian still die in his sins from sins committed AFTER he became a Christian?
Does he lose his salvation or does he lose his fellowship with God?

These are some serious questions and a good serious bible study will answer these and other similar questions. Note from Pastor Mike:
Let's look at the original "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and do a Bible study of each verse to see if this is something that we should be singing. We can put truths into our own words, as did Wesley here, but we also must make sure what we are singing is still truthful.

For those of you that are new to 'meter' and syllable writing of the old hymns, you may find this interesting. You can see how they put the emphasis on words, not music and how we put the emphasis on music and not words today.

Also, this is the only time in history, past, present or future that you will hear me sing 'solo' as we do some singing for example in this sermon. My apologies. :-) Following along with the notes is important to understand what we are doing in the sermon, too.
