My Challenge, as a Pastor, to Change Direction and Emphasis of My Local Church Family – 2002

This is the sermon that I gave to challenge the church families to change our direction and emphasis at Touchet Baptist Church, June, 2002. It was part of my 'Garden Series' and as far as I can tell, this is the oldest sermon I have available. I had been pastor for 6 years and was just starting to consider the seriousness of looking towards Paul with rightly dividing Paul's books, not just rightly dividing pick-n-choose by verse.

Yes, the sermon is a "little" long... but that was the way in those days - and people stayed! I recommend if you want to get the sermon as put forth, you should sit through it all in one sitting, as the people in Touchet did. The unedited video will be online soon... (I hope).

The sermon begins with emphasis being put on the church family as a whole - how the community should see us as a local church. We end the sermon by emphasizing the importance of our personal walk as that is what people see. It was more important for our testimony to be one that is seen, not just heard!

This sermon began a 7 year 'pastoral experience' that was the most rewarding yet challenging and difficult time of my life. At first, it was great as we learned the joy of "Paul Only;" however, the personal and family battles concerning the outward 'walk' in everyone's lives finally wore us all down. As I have said for years, the 'truth of a rightly divided KJB following Paul Only' is what took us down. Not the devil - not a person - not the flesh - TRUTH!

Remember, this was also presented before our years of serious Paul Only application We were still a Baptist church, however we eventually dropped the 'Baptist' title. We still did an occasional invitation, however we stopped them soon after this sermon. We hadn't gone through Hebrews to Jude as Tribulation books or Acts 1-8 only as Great Commission, not to us today; now it is obvious!

While we still believed the Baptist PSR/Gipp 'strong-arm' was the only way to preach, Paul changed us soon after.

In this case in 2002, this sermon was appropriately given and properly timed to get us all started looking on the outside walk, getting us off our brain collection of great doctrine! It was good that I didn't know what was going to happen in the next 7 years after this sermon!

Dear Web-Family: Are you willing to accept the challenge given in this sermon? I hope you are; and hopefully in one session - no potty or sandwich / coffee breaks - no stretches - no interruptions and I don't recommend you listen as you sit back in your recliner or bed. It is even more timely and necessary today. Paul's doctrine is fantastic, but his 'manner of life' is written to us directly and will be what our judgment seat of Christ will be based on. Now is as good as time as any to put this sermon on!

We can see in detail some of the workings of the devil as he prepares the world for 'his' coming in Revelation 6, according to the modern bible versions of today. i.e.: we can learn what all the fuss about water baptism is today and how it will be used during the tribulation - an amazing observation.

Chapters 21-23 Chapter 23 is one of the greatest chapters on today's pastors and their modern bible versions. Thanks Jeremiah!

This also can be one of the false sources for the fearful preaching heard today as the 'serious' preachers try to scare folks with God's judgment instead of telling folks about the goodness of God! Folks just can't let go of the Old Testament and Gospels - or even Hebrews to Jude. Those books teach works for their salvation, thus the devil hinders Paul's preachings in our churches and families, today!

A Simple, Rightly Divided, Biblical Critique of “The Exchanged Life”

We examined a 'new' 'Grace' program that tells folks about how to live the 'Exchanged Life.' Even though they do use a number of Paul's teachings, their bottom line is the holiness walk 'or else' by going back to the Gospels and forward to Hebrews, etc.

This 'program' bases its verse on Galatians 2:20 but instead of the faith OF Christ, they change it to faith IN Christ. They do get into the teachings of Paul, such as Philippians 4:9 but the 'walk' that they search for is from the gospels / being led by the 'feelings' etc and the Tribulation books. Close - but as is everything else these days, no deal!

It continues to amaze me how close the devil is getting with the truth these days before he finally twists it to make it just another deceiving program setting folks up for the coming anti-christ in Revelation 6 instead of the real Christ in Revelation 19.

Because we review & critique their own material, there are no notes for this sermon. If you know the truth of a rightly divided Bible, you can spot their 'seriously' false teachings from within their own material. These are long today - lots to say!

Are Christians Still “Sinners?”

After a person is saved, does God still consider them a sinner?
Is there still a need for personal confession of sins?
Are we to try to be like Christ and imitate his walk by following His footsteps, etc.?
If a Christian commits a sin, is he of the devil again as it states in I John 3?
Can a Christian still die in his sins from sins committed AFTER he became a Christian?
Does he lose his salvation or does he lose his fellowship with God?

These are some serious questions and a good serious bible study will answer these and other similar questions. Well, here is that serious and detailed Bible study sermon that will not only answer these questions, but will show you a real joy from the Risen Saviour - a joy and peace that has been robbed by almost every pastor and church in America these days!

The Curses Still Exist

I see that some of our frustrations as a Christian are because we may tend to think that our existence on this earth should be easier and better than those without Christ. We have to remember that the devil is the god of this world and we are in his territory when we try to do right, dress right, talk right, etc., not doing those things that we learn are not expedient, do not edify, etc. and are what the Risen Saviour teaches us through Paul's teachings in the KJB.

The original curse still exists - and with the direction of Paul, we can learn how to live to please God and to do right - even within this cursed world. In fact, trying to change the 'design' is exactly what the devil is doing these days so don't be part of the devil's plan as you do what you can to reverse the curse. Let Christ take care of the curse of the law and then you do what you can, with God's strength, etc. to live what would be considered a Christian's life!

Note: the video appears long but that is because we often include the singing before and after the preaching as well as some email updates from the family or comments about the daily news from a Biblical point of view. Oh, and sometimes the sermons are just long as there is a lot to preach on these days. In order to get through the whole counsel of God, we don't have much time left these days.

There are also still a few recording issues I need to deal with but at least there is a video available finally. I am trying - we will be settled soon? ha, right!

Sunday School Matthew 5:38-48

Jesus 'changed' the way of God more perfectly from the Old Testament when he told his followers how to deal with the enemy during the Gospel times. Then, as the Risen Saviour, we see how he tells us to deal with the 'enemy' today. There is a difference. We are not to deal with the enemy today the way Jesus told his followers to deal with the enemy then. The reason 'Christianity' has gone the way it has is because Christians today are trying to deal with the 'enemy' in the wrong manner.

Learn from Paul - and the risen Saviour - how to deal with the enemy today. You might be surprised what God actually expects of you when it comes to folks who are changing the truth into a lie today.
Acts 13:10 - And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

The ways of the Lord today are the ways of Paul!
1 Corinthians 4:17 - For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

This sermon is a follow up from the Sunday a.m. message about there being no law to make us sinners, etc. (Romans 10:4)
We now must ask ourselves, "If there is no law and no need for an advocate, then is there a need for an accuser?" The answer is no - the verse about an accuser is only in Revelation showing that the devil will be doing that accusing during the Tribulation.

So OK then, if the devil is not an accuser now, what does he do to us? Anything?

We cover Music in the OT and Music for the Body of Christ today.

Here is my 'personal' sermon on the 'all' that I have preached on music in summary format. We contrast the OT design of music (including the Gospels) with the NT design of music through Paul. Worship today is totally what Paul preached on Mars Hill - when he preached to those who ignorantly worshipped their unknown God.

What does the Bible say about music rightly divided? Here it is - this is all based on all the years that I have been in the 'ministry' and seeing what I have seen in the churches I was involved with these past 25 years.

Music is a powerful voice that the devil is using to prepare this world for worshipping the Beast! It is exceeding magnifical what the King James Bible can reveal today - to those who truly trust it as the very mouth of God and can also understand how to rightly divide the word of truth.

The KJB is not only the gospel of our salvation (Ephesians 1:13), it is also the source of our understanding and enlightenment.

Yes, this sermon appears to be lengthy - but even as 'fast' as I presented this sermon tonight, I pray this sermon will help folks see what is going on in their lives and church concerning music.
